Tucson Electric Power (TEP) offers significant rebates for upgrading to ducted, high-efficiency

systems (14.3+ SEER2).

quick and convenient for our customers in the greater Tucson area.

Early Retirement

(The current unit’s compressor must be operational for 15 minutes and have an estimated

operational EER at or below 9).

  • Gas Heating/Central AC: Up to $600 Total Rebate

($480 base + $120 included if the new unit is two-stage, variable-speed, or 0.5 tons smaller

than the pre-existing unit).

  • Electric Heat Pumps: Up to $720 Total Rebate*

($480 base + $120 if new unit meets HSPF2 requirement + an additional $120 if new unit is

two-stage, variable-speed, or 0.5 tons smaller than pre-existing unit).

Emergency Replacement

(current unit is not operational)

  • Gas Heat / Central AC: Up to $240 Total Rebate

($120 base + $120 included if the new unit is two-stage, variable-speed, or minimum 0.5 tons

smaller than pre-existing).

  • Electric Heat Pumps: Up to $360 Total Rebate

($120 base + $120 if new unit meets HSPF2 requirement + an additional $120 if new unit is

two-stage, variable-speed, or 0.5 tons smaller than pre-existing unit).

*Dual fuel heat pump systems qualify as electric heat pumps. Contractor stipend of $50 for all HVAC unit

Efficiency Upgrades

Small changes lead to big monthly savings. We can stack these rebates on a single project:

  • Mini Split Systems: $100 per ton (Must be 15.2+ SEER2 / 7.8+ HSPF2).*
  • Smart Thermostats: $35 Rebate when Temperature Control provides and installs a

Wi-Fi-enabled model.

*MeasureQuick is not compatible with mini split systems, and therefore, no report is required. Contractor

stipend of $50 for all mini split replacement projects.

Annual Maintenance & Tune-Up Rebates

TEP customers can apply directly for these yearly maintenance incentives. Temperature Control

provides the itemized invoice you need to get paid.

  • Condenser Coil Cleaning: $40 Rebate (1x per year)
  • Evaporative Coil Cleaning: $40 Rebate (1x per year)
  • Refrigerant Charge Repair: $80 Rebate (1x per unit)

Duct Sealing:

  • Tier 1: $120 (10-14% leakage reduction)
  • Tier 2: $200 (15-49% leakage reduction)
  • Tier 3: $240 (50%+ reduction)
